I have the Baroque Blahs...

I just had to have Baroque Motifs, the new Stampin' Up set from the Fall Preview Brochure...so I got it in a trade on SCS along with Hugs and Wishes from the Fall Brochure also.

I have tried to stamp with it several times and I think that I just have to accept that it isnt my "style". I am not a sophisticated, swirly stamper. I go for the cute stuff, the silly, girly stuff, not this fancy-schmancy stuff, KWIM? And I guess that is ok, right??

Yesterday, while at work, I remembered that it was the monthly Inky Angels meeting. The Inky Angels are an awesone group of SU! demonstrators that are all under the same 2 uplines and we meet once a month to talk about business ideas and see any new techniques we are demoing, etc. We also get tokens for our achievments in sales, promotions, etc. and we can use them to buy supplies every month at the meeting, that is REALLY cool!! We have a new rewards program coming in July and it sounds really fun, too, can't wait!
Anywho, I forgot about the meeting and also the swap that we do at the meeting too so I had 1 hour after work to make a swap for 20 people! The theme this month was Patriotic or Masculine Birthday. I went for the masculine birthday.

Here is my very quick card for the swap using Baroque Motifs for the 1st and likely last time;):
Supplies (All Stampin' Up!):
Barogue Motifs, Hugs and Wishes
Mellow Moss, Brocade Blue cardstock and ink
Whisper White cardstock
bluebird grosgrain ribbon, silver brads

PRETTY!

Well, our darling daughter decided the other day that having a kitten would be so "cool" and that she wanted to name it "Pretty" cause that is just the "hottest" name ever for a kitten...
So, what the heck, right? If they had a female kitten at the animal shelter I told her we could get it and darned if they didnt have 1 cute little kitten that just so happened to be a female.

Here she is being really evil and clawing at the Zoofari images that my SCS friend Katherine (beadfreak22) sent me:

Here she is playing with the top to my Close to Cocoa marker...brave cat:

And here she is thinking about playing with the ribbon that I actually wanted her to play with:

Have a great day and if you have room in your home, stop by your local animal shelter and get a kitten or a puppy or better yet get an adult cat or dog. We started to feel really bad after we got this kitten that we didnt get an adult cat but then we didnt want to bring her back since she is family now and all but the adult animals have a much harder time being adopted and I feel a little guilty for getting a kitten but it's done now so there is no need worrying about something I can't change, right??

Father's Day Cards From the Dog and Daughter and My Personal Father's Day Observation.

Father's Day was yesterday. I hope that everyone had a great day and made their dad's feel like Kings!

Anyway, here is a funny Father's Day observation that I had...

I went to the grocery store Sunday morning after tanning just like I do every Sunday morning after tanning, and I noticed that there sure were a lot of dad's with kids at the grocery store. I noticed because this was unusual for my Sunday morning grocery shopping. Normally it's just me and some other heathens in there on Sunday morning not dads and kids!

Anyway, I mentioned this to my husband later that day when he got home from golfing and he said that he knew exactly why there were so many dads at the store with their kids.

He said that on Father's Day some women think that since it is Father's Day the fathers should have to be with their kids on that day! He said that all his friends have to take thier kids with them wherever they go!

Am I the only one that thinks that is a little crazy? I know that on Mother's Day I don't want to be with kids, mine or anyone elses.

So, what's say next year, if you are one of those women that makes your husband schlep the kids around all day as their reward for being a dad, don't. Let them go golfing and drink beer with their buddies or all alone if they want to. Let them sit on the couch in their boxers and watch ESPN all day long. It's their day, afterall.

Now on to some card making.

My daughter made her dad this card for Father's Day. I think its pretty fabulous since she has only made 3 or 4 cards ever. She did however write the word "Daddy" before she saw that I have Snap Stamps that she could have used but that's ok, it's more personal that way, right??

And this card is from the dog, isnt she sweet??:

My Favorite Things and Paris Hilton talk

My new MFT stamps came in the mail on Saturday! Talk about fast service. I just ordered them on Monday, wow!

There was a little peek of them on my messy stamping table but I just knew y'all wanted to see them up-close and personal and I'm just nice like that ;)

Aren't they pretty???

I also got my Papertrey Ink set on Monday but I was so anxious to use it that I forgot to take a picture, sorry.

Let's talk about Paris Hilton. I probably have the most controversial opinion of this whole situation and strangely enough my husband has the same opinion so we can talk about it together over dinner and such :)

I just don't see what the big deal is. I know of people that have had 3 DUI's convictions and they aren't in jail. Is it "right"? No! Is it my problem? No!

I mean how bad is this judge's "small man's syndrome" that he had to prove a point by sending someone famous to jail just to look like a big man? What a joke. Then let her out and then give her more time in jail because some dumb a** sheriff let her out so punish her??? What???

And why does everyone in the world think it is fun to talk badly about someone that none of us has ever even met before?

I know one thing, it doesnt make me feel good to put someone down or wish badly on them whether they have broken the law or not, it's just wrong and ugly and I don't get the whole lynch mob mentality. It can only be explained by one word "jealousy".

There are much bigger things to worry about in this world.

And if you are going to say "young people look up to her and she is a bad example" then you need to start teaching your "young people" better than that because when I ask my daughter what she wants to be when she grows up she certainly doesnt say "Paris Hilton" or "Lindsey Lohan", she says a lawyer and that she wants to be herself just older, DUH!!!

And I am 33 years old and if someone said I had to go to jail, I'd cry for my mommy, too!!

Check this out and forget about Paris Hilton:

My Stamping Confession, What's Yours??

Here is my confession:

I am a MESSY stamper! I mean I can make this huge mess while making just 1 or 2 cards. I don't know why but I always feel like I have to pull everything out and leave it out. That's the real problem. I probably didn't clean up from the stamping I did before this on Saturday...

So, what's your stamping confession??? I wanna know, mostly to take away some of the guilt, KWIM??

Here's the evidence:

And some stamping, too.
Here are the Father's Day cards for my dad and my father-in-law. The origami shirt was an SCS challenge last week (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=254439) and I finally got to try it out on Saturday.

The 2nd shirt is a full-size card and I noticed that idea on one of my favorite blogs Stampowl's Studio (http://stampowl.blogspot.com/). Frances was one of the hostesses during SCS's Virtual Stamping Weekend last month and so was I, so we have gotten to know each other through that and through some chatting we've been doing on SCS (can you tell I love SCS?).

Anywho, here they are and I hope you like them!

Supplies Used:

SU! Designer Paper, Spring Showers, So Saffron cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, buttons, SU! stamp set Everyday Flexible Phrases and All Year Cheer.

Cracked Glass

First things first.
I have a serious ice cream addiction going on. Not with just any old ice cream, it has to be Breyers Bubble Yum ice cream (http://www.breyers.com/products/product.cfm?u=77567-26401&b=1)! I love it so much, you HAVE to try it, you will not be sorry. We bought it for our 3 year old neice to try and she didnt want any so my daughter and I tried it and are we ever glad we did:) You just have to try it. Oh and did I mention it is "light" ice cream??? It even gets better, huh??
Now onto some stampin' stuff now that the shoppin' is out of the way;)

I got home last night and my husband reminded me that it was his sister's birthday, oops! I mean, I love making cards for people for their birthday and I forgot all about her birthday??

Anywho...

My sister-in-law loves the beach and palm trees so Balmy Breezes was the best choice for her card. I also really wanted to try the Cracked Glass technique and since I just got some Glazzy Glaze embossign powder I was all set to go!

I put 3 layers of the Glassy Glaze on my card and I think that was the perfect amount:)

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Balmy Breezes (SU!)

Cardstock (SU!): Old Olive, Cool Caribbean, Whisper White.

Ink: Versamark, Burnt Umber (Palette), Creamy Caramel (SU!)

Other: SU! Pastels, Glassy Glaze Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Twill Tape, Circle Punch, Silver Eyelet, Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots, Tombow Mono Multi

Thanks for lookin' and have a great day!!

No cards but some shoppin'!!!

I haven't gotten to stamp this week yet with all the studying for exams with my daughter and today being the last day of school and all the busyness that goes with the start of summer but...I did make 2 purchases this morning (shhhh).

The first purchase I made was from http://www.mftstamps.com/. I got 3 sets; Hot Stuff, Let's Go For A Walk and Cat 'n Dog. I cannot wait to get them and show them off:)

My second purchase was from http://www.papertreyink.com/. I got the Green Thumb set (http://www.papertreyink.com/stamps_greenthumb.html) and even though they offer free shipping on orders over $40.00, I stuck to my 'budget" and only got 1 set! Aren't you proud of me???

And some more fun news. I am going to a fun Stamp Camp on Saturday as a "customer". It is being put on by my up, up, upline and after all the real customers signed up she opened it to other demonstrators! We will be making 6 projects and also be able to buy some of her retired sets...oh carp, more shoppin'...what's a girl to do??????

And our lovely daughter is going to Nags Head for the weekend, leaving tonight so hubby and I will be wild and free like newlyweds all weekend long!

I am going to try to stamp something tonight and figure out how to upload it to this blog of mine and show y'all!

TTYL!

still thinking...

Ok, I am still thinking about this blogging thing. What will I say or show y'all that hasn't been said or shown before?

One thing I want to do is show you all the new stamping and paper crafting supplies that I buy. I am a coupon crazy shopper so when I find a coupon code, I'll share it with y'all, how's that??

I think that tomorrow I will be placing a little SU! order for some of the new Fall Winter Preview items that I just have to have. Problem is that I am on a "budget". Anyone familiar with budgets? Apparently you can't spend money or something like that! I am supposed to go all June without buying any new stampin' stuff but here's the thing...I got some "extra" money because of an accident I was in. It isn't much but I can definitely eke out a little bit of it to get my hands on some new stampin' stuff...right????

Hello blogging world

I thought I'd see just how easy it is to create a blog...and apparently it is very easy and they just let anyone have one! Holy mackeral.

Guess I just have to think of something brilliant to say, huh?

I'll think about it tonight:)
