Moxie Christmas and Monday Challenge

Today's card is for the Monday chicks challenge and we are sewing....faux sewing for me...the sewing machine I got for Christmas still hasn't taught me how to use it....still waiting for that to happen;)

My card is also for the Christmas stamping challenge on the Moxie Fab blog!
I used to the upcoming Unity kit called Joy and Wonder for my card and some new Cosmo Cricket Christmas paper.

Weird thing....all of my PTI New Leaf products, ink, cardstock and ribbon are different shades of green....very interesting. Hope you can't notice it too badly on this card!

Check out the rest of the Monday chicks playing today - Jeanne, AJ, & Maren.

Anniversary Card and September KOTM Sneak Peek!

Remember THESE wedding invitations I made for my co-worker Marianne?

Well Sunday was her 1 year wedding Anniversary so I decided to dig that stamp set out...that I hadn't wanted to see ever again....and make her an Anniversary card.

I used the same colors from her wedding invites (except the red is not Real Red it's Pure Poppy) and kept it pretty simple.

The stamp set is Garden of Life.

And here's a little sneak peek of the September Unity Kit of the Month:
CA-UTE!!!!!!!!!!!

See you tomorrow for some Hip Hop action...the LAST Hip Hop.....I cannot wait to see what is coming next!!

Easiest Card Ever...and Some Weekend Pics

When you are in a hurry but want to stamp a SU! Simply Scrappin' kit is perfect!

The challenge today was to use the colors brown, turquoise, pink and orange.
As you can see I forgot the brown and went with Old Olive instead....OOPS!

The Monday Challenge players:
AJ

Jennifer
Brooke

Amber

The sentiment is from Sending My Love that is free with the purchase of the August Kit of the Month from Unit!

The rest is from the Simply Scrappin Kit Sunny Day.

Here are a few weekend pics for you if you'd like to see them...

Mike and I had our 10 year wedding anniversary on the 21st so we headed down to Cape Hatteras for a weekend getaway!

Hatteras is our favorite place on earth...we are seriously wondering how we can sell the house and get jobs down there....we'll keep working on that ;)

Hurricane Bill was churning up the ocean! But we still played {like kids!!} in it for hours on Saturday!
I wish I had pics of the waves on Sunday in Rodanthe but it was raining and I didn't want my camera to get wet but they were 10-12 feet! We stopped to watch all the surfers, it was amazing! There were pro surfers there for O'Neill and Quiksilver...it was amazing, did I say that it was amazing??

We rode by the lighthouse a few times:

And we went out Saturday for a romantic, delicious dinner:
Can't wait to see what the next 10 years holds for us....hopefully it involves toes in the sand.....

Have a GREAT day!!

Kids Card Monday

Today we are making cards for "kids" and I am really stretching this challenge and taking it into a whole different direction...

Rachel's friend had a baby the other day. Yes, Rachel is 17 and so is her friend but these things happen...so I made a card technically for a "kid" because at 17 you are definitely still a kid ;)

There is so much more to this story but it's too long to tell here and no one wants to hear it anyway, lol....but Rachel did tell me that her friend said she hopes I could be "ok" with everything and that I make her baby a card because she loves all the cards I have made her and wants her baby to have one, too.

So here is my baby card for a new, young mom.

I used new Basic Grey Lemonade paper and my new Unity kit Frame This Alphabet.

Today's Monday Chicks Challenge is to make a card or project with trees!

My card is a hand drawn tree I drew and then cut out of Kraft cardstock, then I traced the top of the tree onto June Bug Basic Grey paper and cut that out and covered the tree-top with it.
Added some June Bug buttons and a little sentiment from Eco Chic and viola...a tree!

Here is a beautiful pic of the Unity booth at the CHA trade show, it was so adorable and people were coming over just to check out it's "adorableness" all week long!!!

This is pretty much what I call heaven!! The May Arts booth at CHA with all the most gorgeous ribbon, ever!
