She Said...it's Hip Hop Thursday!

Thursday is here again, don't you love that???
You know I do!

And today we have a bunch of FABULOUS new Donna Downey kits to show you!

One of them is called She Said...and I may have one to give away here on my old blogarooni!  So keep reading!

I made 2 cards today, one with She Said and one with {a little happy}.

First up is the {a little happy} card...and let me tell you, if this does not SCREAM 1987, I don't know what does...or you are too young and we can't be friends anymore...just kidding...sort of!!!
It *like* *totally* reminds me of hanging at the skating rink with my girlfriends trying to make the cute boys couple skate with us to "Secret Lovers"...ahhh....good stuff right there!

Now the She Said card is a quickie!  I am thinking of whipping up a bunch of cards like this with this kit for a Girls Night Out craft sale/show I am in next weekend, I think the girls will love them, don't you?

Fun stuff huh??  Are you still with me?  Are you waiting for the blog candy info?  OK, here it is!

Just leave me a comment telling me something "she" said...could be your BFF, your mom, grandmom, girlfriend, daughter, any chick in your life, including something YOU say!  Just tell me something inspiring, memorable, meaningful that a "she" in your life, said!  And you will be eligible to win this new Donna Downey Kit!

Easy enough right?

I'll announce the winner Saturday Morning.

After you leave your comment, hop on over
to AJ's Blog to see what she has for you....
After you HOP to all the blogs today, come on over to the SCS Forum to see this week's Hip Hop sketch challenge, CHAT, LAUGH and to win some FAB prizes!

See you there!

  1. Happy Thursday and I do remember 1987. I still feel like an 80's gal at heart.
Anyway, my "she said" was something my bff, who isn't my sister but should have been, said to me before I was to speak in front of a large crowd - something I was doing for the first time and totally scared out of my mind. She told me very simply to just 'do it afraid.' I did and it worked and somewhere in the fear came peace and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I don't think I could have done it without first hearing those words.

  2. My BFF helped me through the transition to the empty nest. She said, "You raised your kids to leave home, so celebrate!" Good advice.

  3. my "she said" comment was from my granddaughter when whe was three years old. i was a little upset about something and she said to me "grandma, you get what you get and you don't get upset". that quote has stayed with me since then. she turns eight this weekend. smart little girl and a joy to behold. thank you for the chance to win.

  4. HI Jimmi,
Gorgeous creations! My mother's basic philosophy is always "don't sweat the small stuff," a great reminder to people like me who always do sweat the small stuff and worry needlessly over things that don't really matter. I am getting better, though:-)

  9. I had a co-worker remind me that it is my family and friends that are important ~ what is outside of work, and jobs may come and go, but it is the other stuff that is most important.

I remember rollerskating at the local rink on Friday nights! :)

Ade - my mom says the same thing to me about lipstick... too funny!

  11. Fabulous cards Jimmi!!! I love those roller skates! My "She said" advice would have to be from my Mom! She told me when I got married to never give up my friends and to stay close to them because having great friends is just as important as having a family - they are your family too! Have a wonderful day Jimmi!

  12. My grandma. It's not a said. But a did. She celebrated 'lil luxuries...a new pair of PJ's, a nice dinner, drinking DR. Pepper out of the GOOD glasses....

    Small things are important. :)

  15. Love the cards. That new Donna Set is gorgeous! Something my mom said to my brother when we were kids. My brother got into a fight with my dad and was really mad at him. He called him a not so nice name and my moms reply has always stuck with me. She told my brother this, "You father was here before you were and will be here when your gone." This to me is what marriage is about, you love your children, you put them in front of your self but in the end you never forget the most important person in your life, your husband. Thanks for a chance to win! Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Can't wait to see the full release today!

She said: Well would have to be my mom who has bacially been my BFF forever! I remember when I said I couldn't she would always say "YES you can, Yes you can" and even for my HS graduation got me a copy of the "LIttle engine that could"

Thanks for the chance to win!

I was not very good & my knees & bum can still rememeber what it felt like. And, who can forget trying to go to the bathroom on skates??

My "she said" is from my mom. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy. Oh how true that has been over the years but. If it's not worthwhile, why do it??

  35. LOL Jimmi! Secret Lovers...I sooo remember those days too! The rink that we used to cruise and slyly skate back and forth in front of the boys we liked is still open. I took my girls skating there about a month ago and flashed right back to my 8th grade self living in the fab 80's! Good Times for sure! In fact, I'm going to stamp some invites using that totally rad pair of skates and send them to some of my high school girlies that I know would love a trip down memory lane and host a roller skating party there! Thanks for the inpiration!

My "she" is from my mom. She was full of those wierd wittacisms that I never quite got till I got older! Like, "You have to crack a couple of eggs to make an omelet."
Yep...get it now, not so much then!

  36. WOW!!!
Ok, let's see... Here's a memorable 'she said' from my 4 yo cousin...
My Mom was babysitting her little baby sister and so when she walked into my Mom's house (having left her baby sister at her own house earlier that day) she says 'you have an Allison too?' ROFL!

My grandma always inspired in everything. (her name was Sue) She told me to do something creative everyday - it doesn't matter if anyone else thinks it's good what matters is how you feel about it. I try to live that everyday.

    ReplyDelete
  49. First I have to say I love your cards!!!

My "she said" is from my mother. I was 16 years old & had just found out I was pregnant! I thought my life was over... and that I would never graduate high school or anything else! "She said" that I could do anything that I truly wanted to do, and that she would be there every step of the way. I graduated high school with honors, while my mom, dad & son Zach were in the crowd watching!!! Zach is now 10 years and in the fourth grade & of course the apple of my eye!!!

    Thanks so much for sharing!!
